Start by doing the subtraction on the left side.

Now cross multiply.

Factor,

You have x = 0 and x = -2. We reject the 0 solution so x = -2.

Multiply both sides by 20.

Clean it up.

Add 8 to both sides.

Subtract 5x from both sides.

Divide both sides by 15 and you get x = - ( 17 / 15).

Take 1 / 9 away from both sides.

Flip them both,

x = 3

For the last one:

Times both sides by 15x.

Divide both sides 4.

x = ( 14 / 4 ) = ( 7 / 2 )
