MNEMONICS.
I remember 3 mnemonics.
1. To determine the inauspicious time (Rahu kaalam) of the day as per Hindu religion. The inauspicious time lasts for 1 1/2 hours starting from 7.30-9AM.
Mother Saw Father Wearing The Turban on Sunday.
Monday-7.30-9AM, Saturday-9-10.30AM, Friday-10.30-12AM, Wednesday-12-1.30PM, Thursday-1.30-3 PM, Tuesday-3-4.30PM, Sunday-4.30-6PM.
2. Spectral class of stars
Oh Be A Fine Girl Kiss Me!
3. Color code in Resistors
B.B.ROY of Great Britain has a Very Good Wife.
Any more mnemonics???

I suppose the one for the planets: My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas
Is defunct now, huh? No Pizza for anyone anymore.
Trillian: Five to one against and falling. Four to one against and falling… Three to one, two, one. Probability factor of one to one. We have normality. I repeat, we have normality. Anything you still can’t cope with is therefore your own problem.
Re: MNEMONICS.
HOMES - Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie and Superior - the 5 Great Lakes
Sally can tell Oscar has a hat on always (reading down)
Sine (sally) = Opposite (oscar) / hypotenuse (has) Cosine (can) = Adjacent (a) / hypotenuse (hat) Tangent (tell) = Opposite (on) / adjacent (always)
If you want to make it even more likely that kids will remember, change "hat" to "hard"!

Re: MNEMONICS.
How about NEWS with a backwards S to North, East, West, South. I made it up myself. The backward S is for remembering the direction.
There were other ones in school like Never Enter Stinky Washrooms. I didnt like them so i created mine.

Re: MNEMONICS.
I made this one up myself for the planets:
Mount Vesuvius Erupting Menacingly Just Swallowed Up Nearby Pompeii.
Note that it was made up years ago, when Pluto was still considered a planet. It’s such a nice mnemonic that I don’t want to spoil it by revising it just to accommodate the reclassification of Pluto as a dwarf planet.

Re: MNEMONICS.
PEMDAS, here, for order of operations.
I remember reading something after Pluto was reclassified. The mnemonic should now be:
My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nothing! <- the planets
Chris Plays Everything! <- the minor planets (so far)

Re: MNEMONICS.
For the planets, I had always learned:
My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming Planets
To remember the English Monarchs, there's:
Willie, Willie, Harry, Stee, Harry, Rich, John, Harry Three, One-To-Three Neds, Richard Two, Harrys Four-Five-Six... then who?
Edwards Four-Five, Rich the Bad, Harrys (twain), Ned Six (the lad), Mary, Bessie, James you ken, Then Charlie, Charlie, James again...
Will & Mary, Anne of gloria, Georges ( 4! ), Will Four, Victoria, Edward Seven next, and then Came George the Fifth in 1910...
Ned the Eighth soon abdicated, So George Six was coronated, Then Number Two Elizabeth... And that's all, folks (until her death...)!!
Eventually, the last line is expected to be changed to: Charles Three (and now I'm out of breath...!)

Re: MNEMONICS.
We use BODMAS here. Oh and our specialist teacher made a mnemonic for sec, cosec and cot
CHOSHACTOA
cosect(H/O) sec(H/A) cot(O/A)
Don't know it its useful to others, but it works for me.

Re: MNEMONICS.
One that I was taught at a Electrician's class, consisting mostly of teenagers, for the sin, cos and tan:
gender Over Here Can Always Happen To Old Age
which means: gender Over Here: Sin = Opp / Hypot Can Always Happen: Cos = Adjac / Hypot To Old Age: Tangent = Opp / Adjac
