Quartic formulaFor the general quartic: The roots now are: In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #2 2012-10-20 05:15:39
Re: Quartic formulaIt seems impractical to remember it, but it is a nice formula.. The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “A secret's worth depends on the people from whom it must be kept.” ― Carlos Ruiz Zafón #3 2012-10-20 10:38:11
Re: Quartic formulaIt is for reference only. There are numerical means that are superior. I just had fun with the derivation. In mathematics, you don't understand things. Re: Quartic formulaQuartic formula? I thought it was a quadratic formula. Or are they different? - n872yt3r Math Is Fun Rocks! By the power of the exponent, I square and cube you! #5 2013-01-23 01:47:08
Re: Quartic formulaQuartic formula is very different, see post #1. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #6 2013-01-23 04:05:34
Re: Quartic formulaYup. That is way out of the range. - n872yt3r Math Is Fun Rocks! By the power of the exponent, I square and cube you! |
