Doc, Doc!

Not many of us are medicos or have anything at all to do with the medical field. But we do know about our body and what the medicos ought to know to some extent. Try your hand at these questions!

1. What do CAT and MRI in CAT/MRI scans stand for?

2. Who is a nephrologist?

3. In a hospital, what is the ante-natal ward?

4. What are carcinogens?

5. What is apheberile? (You may find this word in the discharge summary)

6. What is Femur?

7. Which part of the brain is reponsible for balancing the body?

8. What are the four chambers of human heart?

9. Who is a geriatrician?

10. What is ICU/ICCU?

Re: Doc, Doc!

Maelwys, Very good work!
All your answers are correct, other than the one to ante-natal ward(But you were close), and the replies to the four chambers of heart and the balancing part of the brain. The four chambers of human heart are the left and right auricle, the left and right ventricle. I think balancing is an important function of the Cerebellum. I shall refer and correct myself if I am wrong.
Keep it up!

HIV should be called HIDV. Or, rather, AIDS should be called AIS. It depends though, on the different meanings.
