"Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally" or PEMDAS

It says parentheses first then exponentiation so

-x^0 says do the exponentiation ( raising to a power) first and then the minus sign. so it is -1.

You raise a number to a power before you do anything other than a parentheses. This is called the order of operations. The ^0 goes first then the - sign.

I must factorise the denominator, and here I go:

x^3 - 2x + x = 0

= x^3 - x^2 - x^2 + x = 0
= x^2(x - 1) - x(x - 1) = 0

Therefore:

(x^2 - x)(x- 1)

Numerator looks like difference of two square. There I go:

(x - 1)(x+ 1)/(x^2 - x)(x- 1) = x + 1/x^2 - x) = x + 1/ x(x - 1) . I hope I am correct.
