Re: Evaluate this integral

Of course not. Do you honestly think they even read those? I have emailed them many times with no affect.

Ever heard of Bondarenko?

I agree with you regarding the satisfaction and importance of actually computing some numbers. I can't tell you how often I see time and money wasted because someone didn't bother to run the numbers.

Hohohohohohoohhoosahsf! That is good one.

No the mathematician. He has a tremendous forehand.

You have heard of the wave-particle duality of light? The Tarski paradox, David Deutsch, Doron?

Assuming Doron refers to Doron Zeilberger, wouldn't that be good?

Re: Evaluate this integral

He is hated by the math community. Ridiculed and denied tenure by lesser mathematicians.

Each one is stating there are skeletons in the closet. When people ask about them they are ridiculed.

Bondarenko who I got to know on another forum has been compiling a list of errors that packages make. It is miles long. It has caused him to be ridiculed and barred from forums.

Re: Evaluate this integral

-(1/2)*(x^4+1)^(3/2)/x^2+(1/2)*x^2*sqrt(x^4+1)+(1/2)*arcsinh(x^2)

This is maple 11's answer to the integral of [(x^4 + 1)^(1/2)]/x^3 (after a little simplification of the
integrand).

Looks like a combo of (x^4 + 1)'s 3/2 power divided by x^2, 1/2 power times x^2 and an arcsinh(x^2).  So it is probably amenable to various substitution techniques but probably several of them.  Could be quite tricky! smile

Writing "pretty" math (two dimensional) is easier to read and grasp than LaTex (one dimensional).
LaTex is like painting on many strips of paper and then stacking them to see what picture they make.

Who is M?  Isn't that James Bond's boss?  Seriously, is M for Maple or for Maxima or for Mathematica or what?   hmm

I enjoyed looking at your answer Bobbym, but I don't understand how you got

I'm not certain if this answer is correct, but it's the same answer from Mathematica.

The eclipses from Algol (an eclipsing binary star) come further apart in time when the Earth is moving away from Algol and closer together in time when the Earth is moving towards Algol, thereby proving that the speed of light is variable and that Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity is wrong.

Re: Evaluate this integral

Hi Fruityloop;

That is because there is supposed to be a du in the numerator. Fixed the original post. Tried something new with the latexing and it just did not work.

Maple. If only Bondie was around to see what it did.
