Re: Zoomable Number LineI can modify it to count only valid keystrokes. "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #83 2011-12-31 07:10:31
Re: Zoomable Number LineDoes the shift-zoom-out work in fullscreen mode for other browswers? Imagine for a moment that even an earthworm may possess a love of self and a love of others. #84 2011-12-31 15:48:01
Re: Zoomable Number LineApparently flash disables many keys when in fullscreen mode, including shift. You can still use arrow keys. "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #85 2012-02-26 01:40:28
Re: Zoomable Number Linehello math is fun. I was wondering if you could have a tiny box that accepts numbers separated by carriage returns or commas, whatever you decide, so I could paste data from my BASIC programs into the box and the points would become marked on the number line. Also, each time you paste, the color of the dots would change for that group by going around a circle of usable colors. If this is too hard to implement in the given time you have, just put it on the back burner for a few years and I'll still use it if it ever comes to fruition. Thanks a lot. Re: Zoomable Number LineI will have a look at it and let you know. "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #87 2012-02-27 08:18:51
Re: Zoomable Number LineI have something to look at: Zoomable Number Line. Couldn't work out the different color thing, so made them all blue. "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #88 2012-02-27 11:35:08
Re: Zoomable Number Lineooh wow, that is very very nice!! Thank you so very much, I will make use of it in the future!!! Imagine for a moment that even an earthworm may possess a love of self and a love of others. #89 2012-02-27 14:07:08

Re: Zoomable Number LineI was looking at your logic puzzles and there is one about "Marble Mix Up" that is totally incorrect, i suggest you guys take it off. There are two solutions to the problem, and the solution given is not one of them. I was looking at this because i teach a logic class for 8th graders and was looking for problems. I can give you the two solutions if you want them, but there are 2 correct answers for this problem. Also, there are 3 answers for the one about 4 people travelling by 4 means of transportation. Only one of the possilbe 3 answers is given. Okay, thanks. #92 2012-02-28 21:32:52
Re: Zoomable Number LineHi jr.williams; In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. Probability is the most important concept in modern science, especially as nobody has the slightest notion what it means. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. #93 2012-02-28 22:16:13
