Hello

I can't get my head around this simple question.

Of the natural numbers less than 25, how many are divisble by 2 or 3 or both.

I got 12 for dvisible of 2 and 4 for divisble of 3 and 4 for divisible of both.
However as I put it in a venn diagram I got the answer wrong.

Please help

Thank you for any help, it is greatly appreciated:D

Hello

Can I please have help with the following question:

The Shy Family

A breakfast ceral company is having a special promotion. They are gibing away a figurine in every pack. There are six figurines to collect: Ashy, Bishy, Cashy, Dishy, Eshy and flushy.

Design a simulation to determine how many packets of cereal you would need to buy to collect all 6 figurines.

1.Each packet has only one figurine
2. You cannot swap figurines with other people
3. You may not onpern packets without buying them
4. Every figurine has ann equal chance of behing in a packet

Prompt questions: What is the probability of getting the six figurines in less than ten packests? 20 packets.

Extend this in some way.

What is the most suitable simulation I should do and how do I set it out.

Thank you

Q.1 Find the value of x in the diagrams below

shown in the uploaded image

I think you use the cosine rule:  Cos A=b^2+ C^2-a^2/2bc

Q.2
A sailing course is typically set out in triangle formation. From a start point two markers (A and B) have been positioned to form a triangle for the sailing course. Marker A is on a bearing of 30º and is 2.5 km from the start. Marker B is an angle of 100º from the start and is positioned 3.2 km from the site.

a) Draw a diagram to represent the course
b)Find the total length of the course

I don’t know how to simply draw the diagram to represent the course but I am guessing that for b) you use the sine rule to a/sin⁡〖A 〗 =b/sin⁡B =c/(Sin C)

Thank you for any help

Hello

I can't correctly work out these questions.

1). The owners of two neighbouring triangular blocks fo land, shown as A and B in the diagram  on the right are offered a total of $1250 000 by a property develooper for the two blocks together. If the were to accept this offer and divide the money between them in the ratio of land areas of the blocks how much would each owner recieve?

2. Note: A sqaure of side 100 meters has an area of 1 hectare)
A farmer wishes to lease one Hectare of his land to an investor who wishes to use it to grow Tasmanian Blue Gum trees. The investor intends harvesting these fast growing trees and selling the wood to a paper making company as woodchip. The farmer. for his part is simply has to fence off suitable land for the investor to use. Rahter than having to use new fencing around the whole area the farmer chooses a triangular site that allows exsisting fencing to be used on two sides ( AB and AC in the diagram). The farmer measures the distance AB as 173 m and measures <CAB as 40 º. He wishes to locate point C so that ABC will have an area of one Hectare. He asks you to calculate the lengh of AC for him. Calculate the length, roudning your answer up to the next whole metre.

Help is greatly appreciated

Thank you

(I'll add the pictures of the diagrams in just a few moments)

Hello

How can you determine the affects of changing the a, b and c values in quadratic, cubic, exponential and recprical equations without graphing them.

I know the basics that in quadratics changing the 'a' stretches sthe graph vertically, changing the 'b' value translates the graph horizontally and changin the graph in 'c' translates the graph vertically.

In my assighment I had to describe the effects of the exponential function y= 3^x which changes to y= 4^x

The answers is: The graph rises faster in quad 1, falls faster in quad 2. y intercept remains 1

I know how the y-interecepts remains one but how do you determine if the graph rises faster in quad one ect.

The other one was y= (x+2)^2-3 was altered to y= (x-3)^2 +2

The answer: The turning point moves from (-2, -3) to (3,2). Graph moves 5 units right and 5 units up.

How do you determine those decriptions.

How would you describe the affects for other functions such as cubics and reciprical functions.

Thank you

Thank you for the help for my previous questions, this is the best forum to get help for maths.

Hello

I don't know how to find the quadratic equation from a table of values.

Here is the question and some of the tables of values.

Question: For those that are one of the above five types determine the algebraic rule for the reationship in the form of "y=???'.
("udef" indicates that the function is undefined for that value of x)

a) x: -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4
    y:  12, 6,  2, 0,  0, 2, 6, 12, 20

b) x: -4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4
    y:  6, 2, 0, 0, 2, 6, 12, 20, 30

I know how to identify if it is quadratic (i.e the second difference) but not how to find and write the equation.

Thank you

Hi everyone

I have a test on Friday on geometric, artithmetic and Fibonacci sequences and I was givin a booklet which is essential to study for the test. I am stuck on the the very last question which is below and on the picture of the table.

Question: Investigate the following results and find rules in terms of Fibonacci number.

I have to fill in the table by using the rule Fn  (Fn+1 + Fn-1) and
finish the rule Fn  (Fn+1 + Fn-1) = ?

Thank you, I will greatly appreciate the help

Greater Path Magician I got from the book known as the Magician written by Raymond Feist. The main character in the book learns power from the greater path and lesser path but you have to read to book to understand, its a really great book.

I have been absent from school hence I have no help on this chapter on Finance thus I am having some trouble. How do I solve the following questions and is there a formula for these questions.

Exercise:

The questions says:

Use the following rules to determine the minimum payments for questions 1-4. The minimum payment will be the greatest amount of:

5% of the amount due, rounded up to the next dollar.
$30 (If the amount due is less than $30 the amount due should be paid) the amount by which the amount due excceeds the credit limit, should that situation occur, rounded up to next dollar:

Q.1 Amount Due: $ 728.60 and Credit limit $3000

There are several questions like this.

Thank you and any help will be greatly appreciated.
