Writing letters to son

The following is supposedly a true story. To be included, besides being true, the story is most likely strange, weird, surprising, or funny.

One student fell into a cycle of classes, studying, working and sleeping.

Didn't realize how long he had neglected writing home until he received the following note:

"Dear Son, Your mother and I enjoyed your last letter. Of course, we were much younger then, and more impressionable. Love, Dad."

Same, but the other way round - I understood Soha's joke, but not lightning's.

How often do people in the army write letters?

"Dear Son, Your mother and I enjoyed your last letter. Of course, we were much younger then, and more impressionable. Love, Dad."

Well, the parents reminds the son to write a letter to them..which the parents compares the last letter they received from their son to their(parents) young age..

Re: Writing letters to son

It means, that the parents are getting older, and that they were much younger when the last letter was sent. Now their older and less impressionable!

And lightning's joke makes no sense!

Re: Writing letters to son

If you don't get the original joke: the parents are basically saying that it has been so since the last letter that they consider themselves (at the time of the letter) to be "young" and "impressionable". XD
