Re: Any Guesses?????I'm guessing this is a puzzle, rather than a 'help me', so I'll leave it alone. Why did the vector cross the road? It wanted to be normal. #33 2005-07-06 02:38:46
Re: Any Guesses?????
That's very close, actually. You just need to change one number on one of the dice. Why did the vector cross the road? It wanted to be normal. #34 2005-07-06 03:28:54
Re: Any Guesses?????I suspect this puzzle should be solved in the same way as the scales one was. School is practice for the future. Practice makes perfect. But - nobody's perfect, so why practice? #35 2005-07-06 10:53:34
Re: Any Guesses?????I've always been confused on this. Is it one di, two dice; or one dice, two di? Last edited by justlookingforthemoment (2005-07-06 18:22:21) #37 2005-07-06 16:37:01

Re: Any Guesses?????I thought, ganesh, you said there was only one solution to the problem.....was that right? School is practice for the future. Practice makes perfect. But - nobody's perfect, so why practice? #39 2005-07-06 17:02:16
Re: Any Guesses?????Those two are really the same thing, it's just that one of the numbers is written upside-down! Why did the vector cross the road? It wanted to be normal. #40 2005-07-06 17:06:20
Re: Any Guesses?????LOL!!!! That is a very good idea! School is practice for the future. Practice makes perfect. But - nobody's perfect, so why practice? #41 2005-07-06 18:02:09
Re: Any Guesses?????Reminds me of the guy who hires out boats. He yells out "Time is up No 6, please come back ... (pause) ... No 6, time is up!! ... (pause) ... ummm...are you in trouble No 9?" Re: Any Guesses?????I probably don't understand what ad-finum means, but I noticed in the original subject covered before angel and candy, that the sequence of powers is parenthesized from right to left, that is why most people are confused. If you do the power and make it the base of the next operation, then it should go to infinity, but I see from your examples that you make the answer the power of the next iteration. Very interesting. Re: Any Guesses?????I came looking for this topic to find the thing that ganesh said about the nth root of n that I knew that he'd said but I'd forgotten what it was that he'd said, so that I could quote him on it here. Why did the vector cross the road? It wanted to be normal. |
