Parabola and Ellipse

I have been a little Geometric of late, and have produced:

Parabola

Ellipse and Perimeter of Ellipse

Conic Sections (those images took over a day, using PovRay)

I hope you all enjoy reading, and I would also value a critical mathematical eye to correct any mistakes (I am only human!)

Re: Parabola and Ellipse

I like it! The conic sections are awesome, and i never knew that ellipse perimeter couldn't be solved with integration. Very cool!

Re: Parabola and Ellipse

Ooh, these look very interesting. Some of the most advanced pages you've done, particularly the one on the perimeter of an ellipse. I can't see any mistakes though, although that could be because some of it's over my head. smile

For example, what on Earth are half-integer factorials all about?

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Re: Parabola and Ellipse

(1/2)! etc, the Gamma function deals with them. Very interesting subject, and I hope (one day) to write a page about it smile

Re: Parabola and Ellipse

I added a small section about it to the end of the page on Factorial Function !

What about the latus rectum?

Re: Parabola and Ellipse

Good suggestion, thanks
