A plump and fuzzy kitten

This code starts off, "A plump and fuzzy kitten is such a lot of fun."
See if you can figure out the rest of the message.
I bet you can't.
You might need to zoom in on the bitmap with mspaint.exe, which
comes with windows.  Turn on the grid to see the pixels better.

Re: A plump and fuzzy kitten

Here it is made bigger with Gadwin PrintScreen and MSPaint in Zoom 800% mode.
It starts off: "A plump and fuzzy kitten is such a lot of fun."
Then there are five more sentences or phrases, since it is the beginning to a poem
that I didn't write, but read when I was a child.
See if you can unjumble the remaining 5 phrases.
There is an indicator for period or end of a phrase, just to help a little bit.

Re: A plump and fuzzy kitten

Here are some more words near the end of the puzzle.
Each *.png file is 21 x 21 pixels, and only about 135 bytes, and
its name is the word it represents.  So wink.png means "wink".
You can get the name of the image with right-click and properties, if
in Windows XP.

The images are named the following from left to right: a, faster, paws, than, wink.

Re: A plump and fuzzy kitten

I'm frustratingly close to solving it. I've cracked the code, I've translated all the words, I'm just having trouble unscrambling the second-last phrase. Man that's annoying... :-p

I might've gotten it faster, but I didn't catch on to the box = word relationship until you posted the examples. From there it was real fast and easy to translate.

Awesome, I didn't think anyone was working on it!  If you want any hints, just ask.
Happy decoding, I realize it might be frustrating, but a fun descrambler if you have
the time to try!

Re: A plump and fuzzy kitten

Sorry about the mistake.  You are right about the yellow block 'y' being wrong, it should be in the middle instead, sorry.  It is an 'a'.  And the word after 'like' has two S's, so it is an eight letter word and starts off with "sh" and ends with "st".  That should make it possible to figure, maybe.
I am really impressed how much you have figured out.  And the word after the "sh....st" has 3 of the same vowel, making a seven letter pluralized word.  The word before the "like" has two vowels the same and 2 of the blue consonants the same, plus one of the black letters.  This makes a 5 letter word.

Re: A plump and fuzzy kitten

Also, 4 blocks after the the mistake 'Y'/'A', the color on the bottom is orange, though it might look like red, it's not, it's orange.
Here's some more information that may help someone whose looked at this a lot.
Purple = black + blue + yellow
Green = yellow + blue
Red = blue + black
Orange = yellow + black
Hope I'm not ruining the fun.

Yep, had noticed that it was orange and already figured what all the combo-colours mean. I think my problem with that second-last line was that I had the first word wrong, and it was throwing off my parsing of the rest of the sentence because I couldn't figure out where the noun, adjective, etc was. Now I've got the first 3 words, and will probably have the last as soon as I see the letters again (left them on a different computer), so I think I've got it all solved now. Wahoo, go me. ;-)

Re: A plump and fuzzy kitten

So it turned out I was actually only missing two words. In the second last phrase I had the 2nd and 3rd words already, but didn't think they fit because I had the wrong 1st word so the sentence didn't make sense until I corrected the 1st word first. Then it was just a matter of solving the last word of that phrase, and my problem there turned out to be that on the top line the right yellow box appeared on my monitor to bleed into the middle box as well, so I was trying to squeeze that extra letter into the word somewhere. So once I re-examined the image and realized that there was only the 1 yellow box there, I got it all. Wahoo! Great puzzle John, thanks for that!

Re: A plump and fuzzy kitten

Wo!! Congra(td)ulations!!  Very, Very impressive, I do say.
Oh yeah, "teeth" and "the", I see the mix up.

And after that, the poem goes, though not in the puzzle:
a poker tail when walking
actions like a clown
purr that shows great pleasure
and fur like eiderdown
Milk dripping from its little chin
so innocent and sweet
Kittens always bathe themselves
by licking head to feet
Kittens are quite curious and mischeivous as can be
They love to romp everywhere to look and hear and see
Girls and boys adore them
Grown-ups love them too
A kitten is a lot of fun
and steals your heart 'tis true.
(I may have missed a verse, can't remember right now, as I
memorized this poem from something my Dad brought home
from his school teaching when I was a child.  I think it is
a poem one of his students typed up in typing class.)

And here's the sentence with all the letters, just in case 'Z' or 'Q' was missing.

Cool, thanks. Yeah, I was missing X, V, Q, J. Of course I knew which 4 symbols represented them, just couldn't match which symbol meant which letter. ;-)
