Solving the Equations with Square Roots(SQRT)

(Sqrt)of (3/2X-5) -10=(2/5)

I keep coming up with 6 but I don't think it's the right answer......Any help would be great ! Thanks to all.....

Re: Solving the Equations with Square Roots(SQRT)

or
?
you usually solve equations of this kind:
,
by squaring the both sides and assuming that
(we are talking for REAL solutions):
and

Now, consider the first equation:

, which is >0. So for x we get:

Re: Solving the Equations with Square Roots(SQRT)

Thanks for the help but I used the wrong number after the = sign it should read

(Sqrt)of (3/2X-5) -10=-8 so I get
(sqrt) of (3/2x-5)=2 so then I get
3/2x-5=4 then
3/2x=9 then
3x=18
x=6

Thanks a bunch for the help! K
