Let me know how you do.

If you need it:

I had: x^2-1/x^3 -2x^2 +x.

I dont understand how you got -x^2 +1. As the numerator.

Please, let me know how you got it.

Thanks

Hi;

I did not get that as the numerator. I got x + 1 as the numerator. I just multiplied. Do you need help with that?

It is an acronym and it means First, Outer, Inner and Last. Want to try this one using it?

I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.

We have:

We use FOIL to multiply it.

F means First, so we take the first term of each one and multiply them.

What is the answer?

I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.

That is correct, hold on to that.

Now for O which means outer:

What do you get?

I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.

That is correct, now hold on to that.

I, means inner:

What do you get?

I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.

That is correct a mundo!. Hold on to that.

We are almost done! L means last.

What do you get?

I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.

You added the exponents correctly but what about that - in front of the second term?

But sir, I think the negative sign is affecting the 'X' and not its power, please could you explain?

-(x^0) is - (1) which equals -1.

Errr okay, I understand it now, any number raising to the power zero is 1 therefore the 1 should take the sign of the x, Because is the x that makes the 1. I am right sir?
