I did not get that as the numerator. I got x + 1 as the numerator. I just multiplied. Do you need help with that?

Errr okay, I understand it now,  any number raising to the power zero is 1 therefore the 1 should take the sign of the x, Because is the x that makes the 1. I am right sir?
