You will have to get a faster machine.

The same thing happened to me -_-

It has got nothing to do with a faster machine, he means something else

But it should not take more than a few months to get used to it. I downloaded Sagemath as well.

It will take years.

Is any CAS really SIMPLE? I don't think so

I meant for all my practical purposes.

If they were simple how could they do mathematics which is not simple?

Mathematics is not too complicated if you have the intuition and good work ethics.

What if you do not? Computational mathematics is very difficult.

That is the thing. 95% or probably more do not have the intuition.

I have been looking at mine since 1998. I still only have scratched the surface. But even so a package can give useful results with only 10 minutes of training.

Agreed. However, what about the developers? Have they not mastered computational maths?

They are superhuman. Jerry Kiepfer largely wrote mathematica and William Schelter, maxima. Sage is the same. These guys are very, very good.

I have heard of William. There is no mention of Jerry though... Funny thing is, Maxima and similar CAS' are so unpopular.

The mathematics community and academia do not wish to change the same old courses they have taught since Legendre introduced them.

Essentially, everyday I see children from school running with no bright future available.

They have no future. They are not being educated to have one.

I am going the same way essentially. Focusing too much on maths and leaving the sciences behind.

I would say that is the right mix. 99% math and 1% science.

Really, science is more important to me then maths. I want to keep as much of a balance as I can.

That is a good balance. Science changes by the day, math does not. To be good at science requires lots and lots of math as you know.

True, but science is thebasis of life. I agree that both are equally important and without one of them we can not do. As least some of us.

It is hard to find a good balance but you should try.
