### Funny?

A statistician was about to undergo a serious operation and asked the surgeon what his chances of survival were. Your chances are excellent, said the surgeon, Nine people out of ten die from this operation, and the last nine patients I’ve operated on have died.

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.
All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof.

That is both funny and sad.

The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't.

Poor statistician...

I have discovered a truly marvellous signature, which this margin is too narrow to contain. -Fermat
Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world. -Archimedes

It seems the surgeon is a frequentist...

That is a nice link. I will have to get into it a little bit when I have the time.

On that page the first piece of analysis is pretty much how I would treat the problem.

If I see a,a,a,a,a,a,a,a,a, I suspect strongly that then next value in that sequence is an a.
