Re: Bafflers?

I meant, we can discuss the method of solving that problen over there.

Re: Bafflers?

I would discuss it with you in a hot air balloon circling the air in under 80 days.

I meant learning the other means. gAr and I have been going over tons of problems just like that one and have been trying to refine our weapons for solving them.

Hmmm... I don't think I own a hot air baloon...

And handling weapons without a lisence is illegal, so you better watch out!

You are right I might accidentally shoot down some of those balloons that are circling the earth.

It would be nice if it were only baloons they are circling the Earth in...

Re: Bafflers?

New Problem:

A player deals out one card at a time and then replaces it in the deck and reshuffles. If he does this 7 times what is the probability that all 4 suits have shown up?

A says) Probability is so easy. The probability is 1 of course.

B says) How do you figure that, I am getting...

C says) 1 it is, I just ran a simulation and it happened every time. Or almost every time.

D says) What happened?

E says) C, wouldn't it have to happen every time for the probability to be 1?

A says) It was probably round off error. Those blasted computers can't even do the simplest problem.

Can you answer the question?

Re: Bafflers?

Hi,

My simulation agreed with my answer, did you try one as well?

Hi bobbym,

Now I'm worried!
Nevermind, I did not replace the cards, I'll try again.

Did you have it with replacement?

Re: Bafflers?

Hi,

With replacement, my simulation is agreeing with your answers.
It's late here, so I'll try to be back tomorrow.
Thanks for your answers, I'll read carefully before answering next time!

See you guys, have a nice time..

Re: Bafflers?

The problem with replacement was trickier than without replacement.
It took me much more time to figure it out!

Hi;

Yes, three of us worked on it and had the same reaction. It took more time than I expected it to.
