I guess you are saying that the biggest pole is 484 ft high the ant travels 2 * 484 +1 =969 ft and then the next pole is at least 485 ft. away so we have 969 + 485 = 1454 and you can arbitrarily fit 6 small poles in the remaining 114 ft.

There is a collection of 12 balls of same color and weight except one ball of different weight. By using only a weighing balance ( with two pans) without weights,find the odd ball from the lot.Also determine if the odd ball is heavier or lighter than the rest.Only three weighments are allowed.

Though it is being set up using gf's it is best solved by other means.

Do you remember the Colonels major criticism of bobbym, well pappym said another one? Between the two you could see how he was doomed to failure before he even started.
