Re: Integral of trigonometry

Hi

That function doesn't have an antiderivative among the standard mathematical functions.

Where does that integral come from anyway?

Re: Integral of trigonometry

Hi;

Most do not. I am unable to find one for that.

Re: Integral of trigonometry

I wonder how W|A got their series. This certainly does not look very nice. Unless there is some sort of extraordinarily clever substitution that can be made here.

Re: Integral of trigonometry

Hi;

That is done with the Series command. Mathematica can differentiate anything so Mclaurin series are easy for it.

I see.

They also appear to have blocked you from using the 'more time' command, unless you are a subscriber.

Re: Integral of trigonometry

I have emailed them several times to not put any restrictions on the site such as that. Seems like every time I did they took something away.

Soon W|A will not be free at all.

Re: Integral of trigonometry

You might be right. Corporate boobs think only in terms of money. They only know two ways to make it. Charge for what is currently free and raise the price on what isn't.

I hope I am wrong, it has always been my quick go-to way of checking my answers.

Re: Integral of trigonometry

Correct, that is one use of a CAS!

Re: Integral of trigonometry

It looks like something that he made up on the spot and he probably does not have a solution at hand.

Re: Integral of trigonometry

It is probable nobody has a solution (other than W|A's series).

I think you should re-challenge your brother and humbly ask him for the solution.
