Re: Hooked!I can imagine. The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “A secret's worth depends on the people from whom it must be kept.” ― Carlos Ruiz Zafón #77 2012-07-29 04:15:03
Re: Hooked!Did you read it? In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #78 2012-07-29 05:13:15

Re: Hooked! No, it is probably deleted. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #82 2012-07-29 09:27:20
Re: Hooked! How did you plan on me reading it, then? Re: Hooked!Your post #74 sort of implied to me that you had already read it! In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #84 2012-07-29 09:38:37
Re: Hooked! How did you get that from #74? The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “A secret's worth depends on the people from whom it must be kept.” ― Carlos Ruiz Zafón #85 2012-07-29 09:41:35
Re: Hooked! You were laughing as if you had seen it. In mathematics, you don't understand things. Re: Hooked!I was laughing at you. It would be very inefficient for you to search every post of yours that contains the word "card". The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “A secret's worth depends on the people from whom it must be kept.” ― Carlos Ruiz Zafón #87 2012-07-29 09:50:40
Re: Hooked!Hohoohohohohohohohooho! You little varmint. There was some keywords that narrowed the search down. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #88 2012-07-29 09:55:45
Re: Hooked! Why did you call me a varmint? The limit operator is just an excuse for doing something you know you can't. “It's the subject that nobody knows anything about that we can all talk about!” ― Richard Feynman “A secret's worth depends on the people from whom it must be kept.” ― Carlos Ruiz Zafón #89 2012-07-29 10:05:46
Re: Hooked! There are many definitions of that word. Rascal is a common synonym and the intended usage. When said jokingly it is considered funny over here. Since it is an American word that definition is the important one. It is often used in cartoons to describe someone who has blighted you in a non serious way. In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them. 90% of mathematicians do not understand 90% of currently published mathematics. I am willing to wager that over 75% of the new words that appeared were nothing more than spelling errors that caught on. #90 2012-07-29 21:42:07
Re: Hooked!Of course not. But I got you again.
