Hi;

Ever play the biggest column game? It is easy. Here are the rules. You are given a triangular array of numbers.1 number per row is chosen so that when you add them they have the largest possible sum. You can use numbers diagonally right or left of the preceeding number. The little pyramid is an example. Can you do the big one?

Try posting it somewhere and than hide it as an img tag.

Hi phrontister;

I will have to delete the entire post to hide it. You are correct!

Hi phrontister;

You have the correct answer.

Deleting images from posts is a nasty business.

Hi Bobby,

Yes...I started this thread about that. You've probably read it.

I think I'm quite happy with the 2-step access to my image in post #9, although stefy's 1-step method is good too.

Actually,I linked to your image with the img tag.

Well if everyone is happy, then it is my job to make you unhappy with another puzzle.

Yes, stefy, I saw that.

I think that because this is a graphic answer I prefer my 2-step option to handle the case of someone inadvertently clicking the hide button and seeing the answer - which imprints (though roughly) in the brain instantly - and might spoil the game for that person.

But,isn't the hide tag only for those who want to know the answer? Why would anyone else click it?

True, stefy, but I used the word 'inadvertently' deliberately to cover all bases.

I don't know how many people would accidentally click on a hide tag that says "solution" or "answer".

Hi stefy,

I want to give a second chance to that one person in the whole wide world who, while (notice the alliteration) sitting drowsily in front of his computer way past his bed time, 'inadvertently' clicked the box and to his dismay saw the answer displayed in all its glory.

Or maybe his wife walked into his study where, instead of doing the work he'd promised to do, he was on this MIF page and panicked by clicking the 'hide' button instead of the 'Close' button on the browser, and then saw my answer by mistake.

Or...

One day such a person will write to me out of gratitude and thank me for my foresight in providing a 2-step access...and then it will have been all worthwhile.

I'm now waiting for that moment...

Still waiting...

Still waiting...

**New format:**

**Can you find the smallest array of numbers?Same rules as post #1.**

**For an example, the small pyramid has an answer of 8,6,8,6. That is the smallest.**
