Hi MIF;

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.

hi MathsIsFun,

One of my early posts raised this question.

I got the same three answers then.

Re: Four People Travel Puzzle

hi Stefy,

True.  Our paths have wandered erratically without crossing for some time.

I've also been elsewhere.  Firstly, I went to New Zealand for a touring holiday.  We stopped over at Singapore on the way out.  My posts to MIF forum were somewhat limited by availability of wi fi and an i-pod.  I found it really hard even just typing without errors and diagrams were out completely.   As you may have noticed that makes most of my help impossible as I have a high diagram rate in posts.

Then we went to visit my grandson, James, and his parents.  There's a picture in another thread.  I'm sure you can track it down.

Then I got 'promoted' to moderator.  Suddenly, there's a heap of new things to learn about.

And I've bought a new laptop, which means I have a daily battle making it bend to my will!  smile

Re: Four People Travel Puzzle

I think there is one and only one solution.

John gets seasick so he must be on the ship.
Cindy had to rent so she is using a car.
Mr. Jones hates flying so he booked the train.
Rachel is therefore on the plane.

Re: Four People Travel Puzzle

Seasick means he gets sick when sailing on the sea, that means the last thing he wants to do is choose a ship as his mode of transportation.
