How is everyone?

How are you all? I hope you're all OK. I haven't used the internet for about ten million years, apart from being forced to use it at school, and the internet is the only way I can know if you are.
I hope that there was a huge Drama on the news about hurricane Wilma, because I was there, and it was hardly anything! We filmed most of it, and all it is basically a banana tree waving about and a few seconds of rain. When I got back, all my friends were all: "Rora! Thank God you're all right," and I was like......ummm........what? So I exaggerated badly to them, and they believed me, and it was very funny to see their expressions when I told them I was only joking.
Bonfire night has started early over here; the fireworks started going off about five days ago. It's quite pathetic, because I was just reading this novel I have to read for an exam, and this tiny little firework went off on its own, and it looked really, really stupid. Apparently, Newcastle is the second worst place for early bonfire nights.
Oh, and I have a pet snake. It's called slinky.

Re: How is everyone?

Really nice to hear from you ...

You should get a t-shirt "I Survived Wilma" (superimposed on a hurrican image, in case you offend anyone called Wilma) !

Slinky the Snake? Does it bounce down stairs ? Take a photo, you can now upload it with your message smile

Everyone's weird in their own way.

Re: How is everyone?

Yep. Zach's weird because he thinks he's a ferret (hence the snake shuddering), Rod's weird because he called me a force of nature, justlookingforthemoment is weird because she not only chose a really long name, but she also doesn't have a signature and I don't know where to start explaining why insomnia's weird. tongue

Oh, and hi Rora!

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

You're welcome. And just in case you ever want to use that word again...it's sarcasm.

I liked "scarism". Much more descriptive.

Re: How is everyone?

Sounds like a religious movement. Perhaps they only believe in hell.

Re: How is everyone?

If you believe in hell, you must believe in heaven. Everything must have an opposite or something like that.

Hey Rora!! How's the band, life, etc.?

It's weird not being able to use the internet. I read The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown in two days.

Re: How is everyone?

I liked it ... quite amazing historical stuff about Jesus, Da Vinci, etc. It is mix of fact and fiction.

Apparently the ideas in the book have been talked about for a while, so Dan Brown thought "I will tie it all together into a novel". It was reasonably successfull, and just when sales were going down, religious people said "Don't read it, is is full of nasty lies", so sales went up again!!

Re: How is everyone?

I still haven't got around to reading it...and we even have it at home.

When everyone was talking about it, I thought, I'll wait for the hype to stop and then see what it is all about. Except I never got around to it. Maybe I should.

It will change your perceptions (I think). Also, it will make you look for a tape measure (or equivalent)

Re: How is everyone?

It didn't change mine. I thought it was an Ok story. The primary focus of the book was the ideas and history, and not the story, which really watered it down for me since it seems based less on history and more on myth. (How big is the difference?)

Angles and Demons (the book he wrote first but no one had heard of until after) was way better. Highly suspenseful, with tons of interesting places and info about them. The only one of his where I didn't guess the ending.
