What was that Latex Symbol? This is an example of really a good little application someone made: http://detexify.kirelabs.org/classify.html "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #2 2009-07-14 00:53:37
Re: What was that Latex Symbol? This makes me more confident that the symbol for transversal intersection (it's about a page down or so, but the one I'm used to also has a line going horizontally on top), does not exist in Latex... despite my hours spent searching for it. "In the real world, this would be a problem. But in mathematics, we can just define a place where this problem doesn't exist. So we'll go ahead and do that now..." #3 2009-07-14 01:39:57
Re: What was that Latex Symbol?I haven't managed to stump it yet, but maybe I'm not giving it exotic enough symbols. Why did the vector cross the road? It wanted to be normal. #4 2009-07-14 04:40:24
Re: What was that Latex Symbol?Almost mathsyperson. Though there should be a little more space between that horizontal bar and the normal pitchfork. "In the real world, this would be a problem. But in mathematics, we can just define a place where this problem doesn't exist. So we'll go ahead and do that now..." #5 2009-07-14 04:53:06
Re: What was that Latex Symbol?
It wasn't recognizing sharp (i.e. tic-tac-toe board) until I trained it a few times. That thing learns pretty darn quick! "In the real world, this would be a problem. But in mathematics, we can just define a place where this problem doesn't exist. So we'll go ahead and do that now..." |
