Re: mixed numbers & improper fractions

First convert the mixed number into an improper fraction:

5 1/2 = 10/2 + 1/2 = 11/2

Then multiply the numerator and denominator of the fraction by something so that the denominator becomes 6.

11/2 = (11x3)/(2x3) = 33/6.

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.
