Stilton is an English cheese named after the village of Stilton in England. But, did you know? It is illegal to make Stilton in the village after which the cheese is named!! eek By law, only cheese made according to a strict code in the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire may be entitled to the appellation “Stilton”. The village of Stilton itself is in Cambridgeshire. faint

SBT Fact #2
Did you know? The Killer Whale (Orcinus orca) is not a whale!! eek It is a species of dolphin. faint

SBT Fact #4:

This Easter Sunday (March 23, 2008) is about as early as Easter can be. The earliest possible is March 22, which last occurred in 1818.

SBT Fact #6
The element carbon exists in several different physical forms (allotropes), of which the two most common are graphite and diamond. But, did you know? Diamond does not conduct electricity but graphite does!! eek Graphite carbon is the only non-metallic solid that is good conductor of electricity. faint

But that ain’t all.

SBT Fact #7
Though graphite is a good electrical conductor, it is a poor heat conductor. The reverse is the case with diamond. Yes, did you know? Diamond is an excellent conductor of heat whereas graphite conducts heat poorly!! eek In fact, diamond is an even better heat conductor than metals such as copper. faint

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

SBT Fact #9

Gravity is not a force (whatever Newton might think)!! According to Einstein’s general theory of relativity, gravity is merely the result of the warping of spacetime by mass; it is the warping that causes massive bodies to move towards each other.
