Combinatorics - Rearranging Words

1. In how many ways can the letters of the following words be arranged?
a) MOUSE
b) DRAGON
c) OBJECTS
d) ANOTHER
e) JUPITER

2. In how many ways can the letters of the following words be arranged?
a) POSSIBLE
b) LABORATORY
c) INVESTIGATION
d) SCIENTIFIC
e) MATHEMATICS
f) COMBINATORICS
g) ANTIDISESTABLISHMENTARIANISM

3. Consider the word PROJECT. In how many arrangements
a) are the vowels grouped together?
b) are the vowels apart?
c) is there a consonant at each end?

4. Consider the word TESSELATE. In how many arrangements
a) are the consonants together?
b) are the vowels apart?
c) is there a consonant at each end?
d) are the T's together and the E's together?
e) are there two letters between the two T's?
f) are the vowels together and the T's separated?
