Researchers believe it can lead to a variety of learning and social problems later in life.
Talk about useless research! How much did that cost? You need a panel of psych guys to figure out that if people do not know who they are they are going to have problems in life?
problem stemmed from families spending less time speaking together due to distractions such as the internet and television.
Did the bother to ask the parents whether they knew the kids names?
Anecdotally, its getting worse from what head teachers say.
The past five years have seen a 58 per cent rise in the number of young children in school identified with the problem.
The Government is investing millions of pounds in tackling the issue, said Mrs Gross.
The last three quotes are really enigmatic. If the gov is investing millions into this problem how come it is getting worse? Could it be that millions are being invested in new boats, cars and homes?

Hi bobbym,
Yeah, I agree that such "researches" and "researchers" are a total nonsense. Probably a bunch of dull people who don't fit anywhere else!
Why is there no researchers' names mentioned there? And no sample size?
If the gov is investing millions into this problem how come it is getting worse? Could it be that millions are being invested in new boats, cars and homes?
The govt has become inconsolable, so they are spending it on some costly entertainment to forget about it!

Hi gAr;
Unfortunately all true. Remember that equation? it could be modified to look like this:
(human intelligence)(machine intelligence) = some constant
I love the way they blame the internet. In commercials they praise it and then in the next condemn it.

but look at this:
some constant=(human intelligence)(machine intelligence)
and
some other constant=(human intelligence)(love)
so
human intelligence=(some other constant)/(love)
substituteinto the first equation:
some constant=(some other constant)(machine intelligence)/(love)
so:
some third constant=(machine intelligence)/(love)
so machine intelligence is directly proportional to love which means that as love grows machine intelligence grow and vice versa.that's good enough for me.

Hi,
Yes.
or more like
Maybe those researchers are journalists in disguise, funded by politicians!

Actually, that reasoning proves that statement #2 is false.

bobbym, obviously the research was useless.
Also, statement #2 does not seem false. Many problems lead from lack of family socialization, and it is partly due to other entertaining activities such as computers (unless you go there to be educated, in that case its a distraction but a useful one) and television (unless you go there to be educated by watching the NATG, in that case its a distraction but a useful one).
