a messy sock drawer contains 3 black socks, 5 blue socks, and 8 white socks, none of which are paired up. if the you were to grab 2 socks without lookingm what is the probability that both will be white?
The probability that the first one you pick is white is 8/16. The probability that the second one you pick is white, given that the first one was white, is 7/15. Multiply these two numbers together.
EDIT: I'm assuming this is without replacement.
