Work Backward Problem Solving

Please help me solve this problem:
Miguel finished 1/4 of his math homework problems right after getting home from school.  He did 1/3 of the remaining problems before dinner. He did the remaining 14 problems after dinner.  How many math problems did Miguel solve?

Re: Work Backward Problem Solving

28 because
1/4 after school leaves 3/4 left to do.
1/3 taken away from the 3/4 is 1/2, you can see that if you draw an apple pie and take 1/3 away.
So half is left and that is 14,
so double it for all of them is 28.
