What is the distance in cm between two parallel chords of lengths 32 cm and 24 cm in a circle of radius 20 cm?

There are two answers.
If you treat it as a 3-4-5 triangle, you don't need a calculator to get either result.

we have that the intersection of the first two lines is (5,5).We can check that that point lies on the third line. big_smile
