Math puzzle

Hi,

I could use help with the following puzzle.

A father has got a certain number of sons. If you multiply ages of the father and all the sons, you'll get number 141141. Age of each son is different. When the father was 20, he had no kids; and he hasn't retired yet. How old is the father? How many sons does he have? How old are the sons?

This puzzle has 4 solutions. I was only able to come up with 2.

father: 47; 3 sons: 21, 13, 11 (47*21*13*11 = 141141)
father: 47; 4 sons: 13, 11, 7, 3  (47*13*11*7*3 = 141141)

Can you help me with the other 2 solutions?

Many thanks!

Re: Math puzzle

Maybe just add in a one-year-old son too for the other 2 ways:
47 * 21 * 13 * 11 * 1

47 * 13 * 11 * 7 * 3 * 1

Re: Math puzzle

If you sum all the ages then, you get numbers 81, 82, 92, 93, correct? If A < B < C < D, what the result for the following would be?

[A*(B+C-1)+2*(C-B)]/1000

[3*(A+D)*(C-B)-A-B-C/2]/1000

Thanks.

Re: Math puzzle

I was looking for coordinates in it, and now I've got it. Thanks. smile

Re: Math puzzle

(81 * (82 + 92 - 1) + 2 * (92 - 82))/1000
Put above in google and get answer = 14.03300

(3*(81 + 93)*(92-82)-81 - 82 -92/2)/1000
5.01100 says google.
