end of world

Did anyone know that this August in Switzerland they have this chamber that is supposed to help them find out about black matter and some people think it might cause the end of the world?

Re: end of world

Just like the atom bomb and breaking the sound barrier and every other supercollider being built.

People say a lot of things.

"In the real world, this would be a problem.  But in mathematics, we can just define a place where this problem doesn't exist.  So we'll go ahead and do that now..."

Re: end of world

The LHC (Large Hadron Collider) is too many orders of magnitude too small to generate a deformation in space.  That means that it cannot possibly generate a "black hole".

The "idea" that there could possibly be such a thing as a "tiny black hole" should be avoided.
What happens to the space that was occupied by an atom after it passes the event horizon?
Some other atom will replace it.
If some other atom replaces it, then the fate of the 2nd atom will be the same.
Intuitively, the tiny black hole is no longer small.

Re: end of world

My knowledge on the subject says that these "tiny black holes" act like normal holes, in that they get smaller as stuff enters them and eventually disappear.

Some theories say that these tiny black holes can be found everywhere in the earth's atmosphere, instantaneously created and then almost immediately destroyed again.

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Re: end of world

If you could give a Value for a Black Hole! then you must be able to give a Value for all Black Holes!...( Or Stars..)

A Black Hole equals 1

All Black Holes equal >1

So now we will count All the Black Holes 123456789...etc. we end up with something like a very large Number! 999...etc.

But I have read in other Posts that this will end up equaling 1 ?

This cant be true because we know that only one Black Hole also equals 1 it has to be greater than 1

Not so welcome.  He was banned before for a reason, and now he's banned again.

Re: end of world

oh..sorry then...

My post was supposed to be more "witty" and not "harsh", if that's how you interpreted.  In other words, the sorry isn't necessary.

(dont remember the reason either)

General rudeness to everyone, as well as misbehaving.  For example, after creating numerous topics on the same subject, I edited his post telling him to stop doing so.  In return, he removed my edits and continued the diatribe.
