Maths is great

May I express my love for maths.

I came across the method of differences for the first time today. It's fantastic.

That is all smile

Yes, it's quite fantastic and unexpected. I still don't know how it 'works' though.

I started my FP1 self-teaching last night (although I'm using an old P4 book smile). I plan to have finished FP1, FP2 and M2 at least by the time I break up from school (July 18th).

Out of interest, what are you planning to do at university?

I'll most likely be doing a computer science joint mathematics.

Re: Maths is great

The biggest beauty i've found in maths recently is from the FP3 module for OCR that i've been working through the last 2 weeks (Exam tomorrow) which lets us get results like this:

How did the exam go? I had C3 today. I should get 100, but I noticed so many of my mistakes, I wonder how many more there were.

One of my mistakes was:

dizzy

Re: Maths is great

I did mostly fine, any marks lost will be stupid mistakes, except for one part of one question that pretty much stumped me! (eek) or i say stumped, i managed to half way work through it, but didn't manage to take it all the way to get the given result, i sort of had the given result, plus some silly looking thing that i couldn't manage to get rid of tongue it was 6 marks, so i might get 3 or 4, i should still get an A atleast, i really don't aim for 100% especcialy not when i only gave myself 2 weeks to work through the module wink

I don't think A's are particularly difficult to get. From how I think I've done in my 5 maths modules so far, I'm already 16/17 marks into an A before having taken the last exam. 2 weeks is impressive, although I haven't looked at FP3 at all yet. I'm annoyed I didn't start teaching myself maths earlier, but if I continue at this rate I'll be finished FP1 in the next few days smile

Apart from forgetting units on the rates of change question, I think I've got full marks everywhere else smile

I attended a few lectures today, one of which was on the Mandelbrot set. I was in awe - truly thrilling.

I think I've taken the 1 across to the other side, and then just merged it with the 3. dunno
