Re: What is da Pythagoros theoremYou have 3 sides of a right angled triangle. Boy let me tell you what: I bet you didn't know it, but I'm a fiddle player too. And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you. #3 2005-07-04 14:26:36
Re: What is da Pythagoros theoremA right angled triangle is one in which one of the angles is 90 degrees. Character is who you are when no one is looking. #4 2005-07-05 02:19:06
Re: What is da Pythagoros theoremHere's something weird that I found out whilst doing some coursework: if one of the sides is one unit less than the hypotenuse, the other side has a length equal to the square root of the other two sides' sum. Why did the vector cross the road? It wanted to be normal. #5 2005-07-05 08:47:54
Re: What is da Pythagoros theoremWell, ganesh's example (5,12,13) should qualify: "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #6 2005-07-05 08:49:54
Re: What is da Pythagoros theoremZach and ganesh are right, of course, the Pythagoras Theorem is just: "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #7 2005-07-06 15:23:50
Re: What is da Pythagoros theoremThe three values of the sides of a right angled triangle are also called a Pythagorean Triple. Character is who you are when no one is looking. #8 2005-07-06 17:51:32
Re: What is da Pythagoros theoremYes, because they are on the growing sides of a square: "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #11 2005-07-07 00:49:41

Re: What is da Pythagoros theoremMy favourite book is called 'The seer and the Sword' by Victoria Hanley. School is practice for the future. Practice makes perfect. But - nobody's perfect, so why practice? #14 2005-07-07 08:23:27
Re: What is da Pythagoros theoremI like "False memorys" by Dean R. Kuntz #15 2005-07-07 20:31:56
Re: What is da Pythagoros theoremWow. I Love "Mort" too. "The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..." - Leon M. Lederman #17 2005-07-08 00:54:30
Re: What is da Pythagoros theoremZach, you aren't banned!!!!! School is practice for the future. Practice makes perfect. But - nobody's perfect, so why practice? #18 2005-07-08 01:11:19
Re: What is da Pythagoros theoremI concur. Very good for confusing people though. Well done! Why did the vector cross the road? It wanted to be normal. |
