Wow. Here we are another year later and we are back doing this sheet again. I just ran across this answer and I thank you for it #22. Now I understand what they are trying to get across.

**Sharr****Guest**

My daughter just brought this worksheet home tonight as well, thank you so much for all of your help and for #22

Thank you!!! My son just brought this SAME worksheet home today. This helped us a lot!! He does not feel frustrated now... and I do not feel like an idiot !

My daughter is doing math homework from Harcourt lesson 18.4 Problem Solving-Making a Model. The problem we are having is there is a picture of a hexagon and the example says you can make 3 parallelograms. We have to actually draw a hexagon and make 3 parallelograms out of it? Please Help!

The hexagon needs to be regular (or at least, there need to be some restrictions on it. Trying this on a general hexagon won't work).

You've interpreted the question right. You just need to look at your hexagon and draw some more lines on it to turn it into 3 parallelograms.

Hint: The 3 lines you draw should all have a common endpoint, somewhere inside the hexagon.

If you can't get it after a while, take a break from the problem and draw some cubes.

Why did the vector cross the road?

It wanted to be normal.

GREAT. I have just jointed the bunch. I have no idea what to do here. My son says the teacher told them to write" 6 sides, 6 angles, 6 vertices for the first one. etc.. (Yes.. I have the same worksheet as the rest) but 3 and 4 are stumping me.

My child came home with the same sheet today. What is the answer to #4. It has two squares, one rectangle and one triangle. I never thought 2nd grade math was so hard.

thought I'd add to the bunch - here we are in oct 08 and the convo is still going...

man we can say this sheet has stumped parents over the ages...

I'm so relieved for the help here!

What a hoot! I google "Algebra Plane Shapes" and the first site brings me here. I can't believe it is the exact same worksheet! Thanks!

**AzMommy****Guest**

I'm so glad I'm not the only parent who feels dumb for not knowing second grade Math! Thanks for the help, what would we do without internet?

**A Parent****Guest**

Okay, it's now 1/5/09. This blog has been going on for four years...same worksheet. LOL. I, too, had trouble figuring out what the heck to do. My daughter and I just had a great laugh reading all the posts out loud. Now we understand the worksheet AND had some quality bonding time. Bonus! Thanks.

Dear 'A Parent',

This should have been posted in the Guestbook.

**Mickey****Guest**

THANK YOU!!! Just saved my seven year old's homework!

**Autumn01****Guest**

OMG! My daughter has the same worksheet too! I am relieved to see I'm not the only one who doesn't remember learning about this stuff in school. Thank you all so much for the help:):)

**Jessica'sMom****Guest**

My daughter brought this same worksheet home today, and I would not know what to tell her without this thread! Thanks SO MUCH for making me stop and think like a 2nd grader...still think it's geometry and not algebra however...

**Brenda1****Guest**

My daughter brought home this same darn worksheet. I so wish the teachers would send home a few pages zeroxed from their math book explaining the shapes, so parents can better reinforce what the teacher is trying to cover. And this coming from a former teacher (specials though, not classroom....and I'm too old to remember all this stuff...)

I found this site extremely helpful and a time saver.

Thanks a lot, Brenda1!

We'd be much more happy if many more children/parents find this website helpful!

Question? Is this worksheet from the same school? Wouldn't that be funny.
