Re: Hello

Hi glenn ... didn't Melbourne just have a hurricane or something?

Re: Hello

Well Melbourne did suffer a massive storm yesterday, it was terrible I lost power for 3 hours during the afternoon then an hour at night and the power continued flicking off for the entire day, and it was the most memorable day for my brother as it was his birthday!

Re: Hello

Glenn- You live in Melbourne? You're eleven years old? Same here!

MathsIsFun- It actually wasn't a hurricane that happened in Melbourne. It was just gale force winds, probably at Force 9 or 8, as lots of trees were falling down. Like Glenn said, there were blackouts- my house lost power until just a few hours ago, and I was bored out of my skull, as I usually go on the computer to entertain myself!

Re: Hello

Yeah for me it was total havoc, it was my brothers birthday and he asked a friend over around 10 minutes before the first blackout! and when he arrived we just sat around talking, and it was very windy for the entire day!

Re: Hello

We were watching about it on the Weather Channel, and the weather reporter had just began talking about the gale force winds in Melbourne when... what do you know? The power goes out! Very helpful.

Re: Hello

Yeah, typical. I had not had a blackout for quite some time prior to yesterday and that weather was very strange as the day before was fine.

Re: Hello

I remember when three back to back typhoons wreaked havoc in the Philip'ns. We lost power for 2 weeks! Good thing there was Scrabble, or we've been bored to death!

Then, a year later, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. Back to back typhoons, no power for a few weeks! YEY SCRABBLE!

Re: Hello

I live in Michigan, in the United states, and we never have blackouts or power outings. Except if we have too much snow, or if there are really big thunderstorms. oh, and scrabble is awesome!!!!!!! smile smile smile up

Re: Hello

We lost our power for a bit some days ago, so
I went out for a walk and run.  Welcome!! to our
forum glenn, and finally my feet don't hurt and
I'm running with knees bent and toes pointed
a little outward, which seems to make knee
pain very uncommon, so all's good.  Oh yeah,
I was born in the 1960's, so you know why I
get little aches.
