Luis: For protecting younger members. "Real Members" can PM as they are trusted. Do you want to be a Real Member, Luis?

johnathon2: nothing after it, really. It just is.

Re: to mathisfun

Apart from pm'ing and being not based on post count, what other things would set apart a Real Member?

Well, nothing at all, really.

Once you've been a Real Member for some time, you just get used to it.

Re: to mathisfun

No, Full Member is just a default thing that happens when you get a certain number of posts, and has no special priveleges associated with it.

Being a Real Member overrides any other titles that happen due to post count though.

Why did the vector cross the road?

Re: to mathisfun

So it's umm

Novice -> Member -> Full member -> Power Member -> Super Member?

Then the Real members

And the Moderators and Admininistrator

How do you become a Mod?

Re: to mathisfun

After you have been in the forum for a while, and after your posts are interesting or useful or both, and after you have got past a certain number of minimum posts, and when the Administrator decides that your posts are not spam, he decides you be made a moderator. Am I right, MathsIsFun?

Re: to mathisfun

In a nutshell, yes. Plus we need to need a new Moderator.

That's what I said, while you were asking to be a Real Member. lol

And yes, about the moderator question, we will never need any more moderators, and this status is achieved purely throughout a long period of time of immense trust and commitment to mathematics and Maths Is Fun. You must be a willing member and be able to handle a variety of situations that involve the community, and you must qualify for the job and must be deemed fit enough for it.

We will never need any more moderators, though, unless one of them leaves. wink

(Wait a minute, I haven't heard from justlookingforthemoment since I was back. Did she go, too? O.o)
