need hep with this Logarithm


log (base 3 and number x) + log( base 2 , number x) = 2
i need help with this logarithm

In order to get a base in LaTeX, use 'log_3' etc.

Are you familiar with

?

Using this,

If you have a nice fancy calculator that can calculate logs to different bases then you're fine.. if not then use the rule I stated at the top to change things around to a base you can enter into your calculator.

The answer is 2.339652691

What part do you have a problem with?

My first step was to change the base of one of the logarithims so that I was working with the same base throughout.

I then multiplied through by

I then factorised to isolate the terms containing x (whilst simplifying the log on the right hand side)

I then divided through by the factor

I then converted the expression back into exponent form in order to solve for x.

I then simplified.
