You have to find a mathematical proof for the answer. Don't just assume that it is two. Who knows? 1+1 might equal ♥

I remember the one for Natural numbers. The definition of the set of Natural numbers goes something like this:

1 is in the Natural set
For every x in the N set, there is an x' which is the successor to x
(There's some more, but I think that's all the important parts for 1+1)

By the definition of addition in the Natural set, x + 1 = x'
So in the set of Natural numbers, 1 + 1 = 1'

+ and U could be types of logical-or (union), and also I noticed the + sign is used as
an exclusive-or in some mathematical writings that looked really difficult.
If it means exclusive-or in binary logical to a mathematician, then the
electrical designer could get confused at first, since the + means logical-or
in some of their teachings.
XOR can be a plus sign in math writings or a plus sign in a circle too in electronics.
1 XOR 1 = 0
0 XOR 0 = 0
1 XOR 0 = 1
0 XOR 1 = 1
OR can be ???? in math writings, and "V", "U", and "+" for Venn diagrams and electronics.
1 OR 1 = 1
0 OR 0 = 0
1 OR 0 = 1
0 OR 1 = 1
