Dennis Kucinich loses New Hampshire 2008

I voted for Dennis because he is the most peaceful, war-free thinker.
Currently 517191 votes are counted in New Hampshire, which is
located between Vermont, Maine and Massachusetts.
1 precinct hasn't reported votes yet from yesterday.
I don't know which town that is.
But 1 out of every 132 people voted for my candidate Dennis.
And out of just the Democrats, 1 out of 72 voted for him.

Now the last 301st town has reported its votes (viewable on wmur.com)
This town voted 54 votes democratic and 240 republican, and that's
two separate votes to narrow down candidates in each party.
But now there are 47 and a half more states to vote in the primaries,
mostly in february I think.  Wyoming out west did a funny thing last
week; they had a republican caucus, but the democratic vote will be later...
In New Hampshire, on our paper ballot, there is a spot for vice president,
but it is ignored by the entire process and is archaic;  funny how traditions
are...

I too am from NH, but I voted Obama. I do like Kucinich alot, but I just felt Obama has the greatest chance of making a differance.

Not that it matters, Hilliary took it anyways.

No, I see things strangely; I like Clinton!

On a serious note, though, I'd be interested to see Obama get in. He seems to keen to have everything cleaned up and turned around in the first "18 months" of his term. I would seriously like to see that happen; if it can be done then maybe we'll get presidents who have some expectations to live up to for a while.

Not that I'm an expert, but I'd say doubtful. Kerry's regarded as little more than a Joke nowadays.

I like what Hillary stands for, but I don't like the idea of four (or eight) more years of a politician. I feel that she's part of the system now, and in order for us to find change, we need someone who isn't a political robot.

I think that'd be Obama (just a little plug for my guy), but I also think that Kucinich and Richardson (who just dropped out) may also be free thinkers.

If someone wins the primary, don't forget you can still WRITE-IN whoever you want on the final ballot in November.  Also, the candidates are listed in alphabetical order in New Hampshire, so that could be why we've had C's and B's since 1989 !!

Yeah, I've never been a fan of Hillary. I need to sit down one afternoon and do my research on the canidates since I haven't been paying much attention. Regardless, I know Hillary isn't the one.

I have a theory that the opinion polls are influencing the votes.

In Iowa they said Obama would lose, so lots of Obama supporters came out and voted. In New Hampshire they said "Obama would win by 10%" so lots of Clinton supporters came out, and some Obama supporters stayed home.

Just a theory.

I like your theory.

I was just listening to NPR (National Public Radio) today, and they were making arguments for why they think the polls are a bad thing.

I think another thing that helped Hillary out was the "crying" she did the day before. Alot of people say it humanized her. Frankly, I think it was a planned reaction.

I have to admit that didn't help the stereotype some potential voters have of women; about them being emotional. It certainly made me rethink things. Not because she's a woman mind you; I'd just prefer my president didn't cry over trivial things whomever they are. I think it would have done far more for her to appear as a strong woman figure. Like an American Margaret Thatcher.

It's true.  Some of the people I know will only vote for those candiates that they think can win, and they base this on the polls and on the last state caucus.  It's insane I tell you.

I just had this argument with a friend who intended to vote Richardson. I think that we should vote who we think will do the best job. I feel that Richardson and Kucinich (Sorry John E. Franklin) won't do the best job because they'll never get the chance to. They're both great candidates, but have no chance and I felt that voting for them would be wasting my vote, or worse, giving my vote to Hillary.

Ultimately, it's a numbers game, and I think sometimes you have to pick your second choice if it means defeating your last choice.

The good news is that Obama did when in my tiny little town of Barnstead.

If I travel north, I always miss your town since its not on the main highway.
Someday I'll drive thru it perhaps if I intend to go up the right side of
Winnepasauke, which is very rare.  I'm near Keene. 
Obama is awesome!!  But he might go to Pakistan with an army, and
I prefer to not get involved unless they're at my doorstep.

Ultimately, it's a numbers game, and I think sometimes you have to pick your second choice if it means defeating your last choice.

Candidate A, B, and C are going for the presidency. The predictions are that A gets 37% of the votes, B gets 33%, and C gets 30%. The predictions, however, have an unknown margin of error.

Neither C or B want A to win (for political reasons, of course!). C senses his chances are poor and asks his voters to instead vote for B, creating a boost to B's figures of about 10%.

A, in the mean time, has told his voters that B is actually the favorite to win and they should turn out in higher numbers to ensure he actually clinches the vote. He then cries.

B, however, reveals that he likes horses, long strolls on the beach, Aqua Velva, and an occaisonal cold beer with friends. He cries, too, but only at the end of the Titanic movie.

And with this "momentum" idea South Carolina may get to decide the whole thing. If Clinton gets SC she will be hard to beat. Likewise for Obama.
