Way over 100, and if you consider that each is about half an hour long, that's a lot of time spent on tv... Time which could be spent on more productive things... such as browsing forums.

Do any of you think you could sum up in a few words why Naruto is so supposedly cool? I saw a few episodes and it's just like most other animes... nothing much stands out.

Well, seeing as Zach said way too many, I did some research.
And, OH, MY, GOD. There are NINE seasons and counting, with 220 episodes. In 5 years. I might faint.
The Simpsons has a lot more, of course, because it started way earlier, but I still don't think they produced 220 episodes in 5 years. There are about 22 episodes in a season, and there is one season released per year. It's only a mere half. HALF.
Naruto is probably cool because a lot of people like animé. Not everyone, but mostly Japanese fanatics and animé Gods. Yes, religion may be brought into it, like Star Trek was. I suppose all animé is popular.

I'm a fan of Naruto, but if you watch either the english dubs or the anime fillers, then you will obviously hate it. And for myself I now hate the anime too. I instead read the manga which I havent downloaded for ages 
I'll download it all on the weekend lol.

You do realise this thread has been long dead? And really to discuss Naruto you should just go on forums.narutofan.com because as much I love Naruto I appreciate that plenty of people here don't and they don't want to talk about it.
