Have a try: http://www.mathisfunforum.com

Slight re-design as well ... uses less room at top ... tell me what you think!

What you post there is also posted on mathsisfun/forum, but avatar or image changes will not be.

If it all works well, I can make it the permanent home.

Re: Forum could have its own Domain Name

Aren't forums only meant to be in a subfolder; not the root?

THIS IS MADNESS!

Re: Forum could have its own Domain Name

Neat, isn't it. And it caused me a few headaches but worth it.

Any other feedback?

Re: Forum could have its own Domain Name

I'm still wondering something, though. People who have bookmarked their topics would lose them, as they would need a new link, as would some other things.

Re: Forum could have its own Domain Name

Redirects should solve that.

Re: Forum could have its own Domain Name

xrubex's post should be in the Help Me forum.

Did you know we can't move posts, only topics?

Re: Forum could have its own Domain Name

4x-3y+6=0
-3y=-4x-6
3y=4x+6
y= (4/3)x+2
Slope of the given line=4/3.
Slope (Gradient) of the line perpendicular to 4x-3y+6=0 is -3/4.

Maybe in v1.3 (whenever it comes out!)

Re: Forum could have its own Domain Name

The forum has been at its new home now for about 2 days, and all is well (I think!).

And an interesting side-effect is that the forum stats are now reported separately and I discovered in one day we got 2,126 visits, and 6,626 pages were viewed.

I think it is the nature of this forum that we get LOTS of visitors reading the questions and answers.
