math questions help!

a practical application of algebra involves the modeling of real life problems through the use of equation. in your own words explain what it means to solve an equation. What are equivalent equations and how can the properties of equality be used to create equivalent equations? how does this help us solve an equation?rolleyes

Re: math questions help!

A reality modeling equation attempts to express that which should be true and false pertaining to a set of pertanent criteria.  Solving an equation is the process of becoming more familiar with the model being expressed.  Equivalent equations is stating the same set of true and false values in a different format, phrase, or language.   "Properties of equality" is something I have not heard of, but it might be referring to algebraic methods, axioms, and rules that get you from one equation format into another one; just a guess.
