Cryptarithms

I'm not sure if it even belongs here, please help me move it if it doesn't. Thanks.

Cryptarithms are the things that you try to substitute the letters with numbers so that the sum becomes right. All members may post their unsolved cryptarithms too!

No 2 letters may be the same number.

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Re: Cryptarithms

It kinda stumped me, but it is possible, in an exercise my whole class couldn't solve, and my teacher ended up giving the solution by accident. Trial and error is what you need to do.

Re: Cryptarithms

I agree with Identity, if t=9 then:
The first "f" in effort =9+I+1 ...the "1" being carried over.
The second "f" in effort =9+A+1...the "1" being carried over.

Which implies I=A, making it contradictory. :S
