Anyone know how he does it?

By the way, I have actually met this fella and he is for real.

I think, therefore I am.

Re: The Human Calculator

Is this guy a savant? I mean, is his brain configured differently? If he is then cool, if he isn't than woah!

^He is a savant
I have actually met an extraordinary savant too  called Daniel Tammet. You can find him on youtube. He's a really nice person!

Re: The Human Calculator

A friend of my mum's works at the Cambridge Autism Research centre and we were studying a book on a boy with asperger's syndrome in English and because of this she offered to show me the research centre because i was very interested in the book. Daniel Tammet only happened to be there! We talked for about 10 minutes and he explained how he was fortunate because he didn't really have a problem with social skills. He told me though that he found it hard to understand left and right. He asked me what my favourite subject was and i said maths and smiled. He smiled back and said "that's great". He told me about how he saw numbers as shapes and how he saw some of them to be ugly and beautiful. He said "I even sometimes see people as numbers". It was  a really fun discussion and i wish i could remember all of it. He's an amazing guy

Re: The Human Calculator

That is cool. He has amazing skills ... interesting why the rest of us can't do it.
