Greetings fellow Mathematicians

Hey i'm Kirsty I've recently turned 14 and i absolutely love maths. Well, what to say about myself...well...I love maths (duh) and umm...*thinks*, I am a little mad (but isn't everyone?). I tend to do maths when i am bored and i have taught myself 765 didgits of pi and all the square numbers and roots of all the positive integers from 1 to 100. I currently look through A-Level mathematics books, mainly focusing on pure mathematics. I really want to do something to do with maths or law in the future and i am starting law for GCSE in September. I've got a bit of a head start because i studied an A-Level Law Book which was really helpful. I have never ever met a living creature who had a real passion for maths. My friends all hate maths but they'll happily test me on my squares or make me recite pi for a laugh. It appears also that the only one who's ever supported me in mathematics is my maths teacher who calls me his brilliant mathematically minded angel/star of the class/school.roflol. He can be really embaressing sometimes and he deliberatly asked me what i got in my maths exam in the non-calculator SATS test and i said 54/60 and he then said "see this is your role model". The rest of the class hated me after that:(....but oh well. I'm still smiling:)  I'm hoping I'll be able to find someone who loves maths as well. I love Maths. Who's with me???

Re: Greetings fellow Mathematicians

Good for you. Calculus is an amazing subject. I think its when you start to realize just how frightfully powerful math can be.

Re: Greetings fellow Mathematicians

Mon Dieu!! 765 digits!!! I only got to 500 once, and then it was really slow to recite, and
then I forgot all but the original 100 I memorized back in college.

Re: Greetings fellow Mathematicians

My mum went away for a weekend about 4 months ago and i was staying at one of her friends' houses. In the room i was sleeping in, their was a poster of pi to 1000 digits. Very random i know but i wrote and learnt it up to 765 digits. I can recite it  quite quickly now. My mum's actually away again and i'm at the same house in the same room for 8 days. I can see the poster if i turn my head so maybe i'll learn more big_smile
