Re: Primes

If you're going to post lots and lots of primes in a single post, then at least try to do it so it uses up the rows of your post, too, otherwise it just stretches the page more than it should.

Re: Primes

But you were the one who started the whole posting-lots-of-primes-in-a-single-post thing. If you hadn’t done it, people wouldn’t have imitated you and all the browsing problems in this thread wouldn’t have arisen. I blame you, Devantè; it’s all your fault. tongue

Re: Primes

i think we should restart this entire thing
adding the rule of only one number per post
and no consecutive posts
that would be nice
RESTART!
jk
but it wouldnt be a bad idea would it?

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Re: Primes

People, it would be very helpful if you would post only ONE number per post. I got a headache just scrolling to the bottom of the page.

Re: Primes

hreres another problem with putting more than one number in each of these posts
u may have made a mistake and we r not gonna look thru each and every fifty billion numbers u put in ur posts to check to see if they r correct

Re: Primes

2^32 bits (the size of an integer) can only go up to about that high.

Re: Primes

That's the part I don't get. 2^32 would make sense, but this only goes up to 2^31.
Why? There isn't a 0th bit.

Re: Primes

It's not that there isn't a 0th bit.  There isn't a 32nd bit.  Because to represent negative numbers, you lose one bit for the sign.

Re: Primes

Ah, negatives. That would explain it. It's a bit weird that a prime factorisor considers them though.
