Judging by his other topic, I'd guess that toby wants this equation rearranged into y = mx+c form.

y-9 = 1/2(x+2)
Expand the brackets: y-9 = 1/2x + 1
Add 9 to both sides: y = 1/2x + 10

And there's your answer.

Do you mean: 

I suspect the first one is correct because I would have written the second one as (x+2)/2 if I wasn't using latex.
